MLB Home Run Leader For the 2022 Regular Season

One of the best things about baseball is when someone hits a home run. This is why one of the best events of the MLB regular season is the Home Run Derby during the MLB All-Star Break. The last time they had it in 2021, New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso won the derby.

However, in regards to who had the most home runs in 2021, that belonged to both Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez with 48 home runs each. The mlb lines are out for the home run champion for the 2022 MLB regular season. Who has the best odds to finish with the most home runs in 2022?

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. +600

This is not a surprise that Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is the favorite to have the most home runs in the MLB this year. He is always a threat to hit a home run every time he steps up to the plate. Guerrero Jr. is so strong and powerful that he can hit to basically anywhere in the ballpark.

With hitting 48 home runs last year along with Salvador Perez, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him reach the 50 home runs plateau. He did play in 161 games last season for the Toronto Blue Jays and it is always a help when staying healthy for basically a full season.

Pete Alonso +1000

New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso has the second-best odds to have the most home runs in all of baseball. He finished with 37 total home runs last season in 152 games played. Alonso is more a power hitter than a contact hitter which is good news for people who bet on home runs.

Pete Alonso sometimes hits some rough patches but he has the talent to hit 40 home runs and maybe close to 50. Alonso is by far the Mets best power hitter in their lineup. We will see how well he shows off his power this season though.

Joey Gallo, Aaron Judge, Shohei Ohtani, and Matt Olson +1200

These four players all have the third-best odds to be the league leader in home runs this season. Joey Gallo is on the New York Yankees in the final year of his contract. He was acquired by them at the trade deadline last season from the Texas Rangers. Gallo was hitting tons of home runs in Texas before cooling down with New York.

Joey Gallo hit 38 total home runs last season in 153 games played. He hopes to be a power source for the New York Yankees this season. Gallo is either boom or bust with hitting home runs.

Aaron Judge is another power hitter on the New York Yankees. He played in 148 games last season for New York and hit 39 home runs. Judge plays in the outfield or is the designated hitter sometimes. He is potentially a risky bet because he sometimes can’t stay healthy.

Aaron Judge was healthy for the most part last season and this is what happens when he does. Judge can hit the ball out of the park and they are usually moonshots.

Shohei Ohtani was the American League MVP last season for the Los Angeles Angels. He pitched when he didn’t play the field, but would also sometimes be the teams’ designated hitter, along with playing in the outfield most of the time. Ohtani played in 158 games last season and finished with 46 of them.

It was the second-most in all of baseball. His power and bat speed is amazing. If he stays healthy again this year for the Los Angeles Angels, Shohei Ohtani will be in the running for most home runs in the MLB for 2022. He might be the face of baseball right now here as well.

Matt Olson played for the Oakland Athletics last season and he was traded to the Atlanta Braves this offseason. Olson played in 156 games last season for Oakland and hit 39 home runs.
